New characters continue to be added to the canon, including Great Bear, Bukwas, the return of the Old Man and his Daughter from the pilot, Spider and S'gaana the Killer Whale. Also, this season saw the introduction of tales from south of the border, including episodes inspired by the Pueblo, Navajo, Comanche and South American Aboriginal traditions.

Raven Tales: Baby Blues is the seventeenth episode of this series of animated television programs based upon the multiple award-winning animated film, Raven Tales: How Raven Stole the Sun. Raven Tales chronicles the wild and wacky adventures of Raven, the most powerful and trickiest trouble-maker of First Nation's folklore. In this episode, the First People are excited about Gwayum's new baby but the little girl doesn't have a name yet because she won't stop crying. The only thing that makes her stop is Widi's warrior doll but it is his most cherished possession and he runs away rather than give it up. Frog finds him in the woods, telling him a story of Agas, the Commache girl whose example of sacifice ended a great drought to save her people.
